About Us
The Wolfe family arrived in Siguatepeque, Honduras in January, 2013. Coming with purpose of doing business as missions, they set about looking for opportunities that would both benefit Honduras and support their family. They soon realized that potable water was a great need and had the potential to fulfill both purposes.
Beginning with water filtration, they developed a distributorship for Sawyer Products, and began retailing water filters commercially as well as donating the filters to public schools through their social project "Agua Limpio para las Escuelas".
Many of the villages they visited were without any viable water source and so Pozos para Todos was created in order to meet that need.
One of our main objectives is to help communities develop a sustainable water source. We also drill commercially and offer discounts for NGOs and missions organizations throughout Honduras.

About the Rig Our drill rig is a Bucyrus Erie 22W cable tool rig.
The cable tool technology was invented over 4000 years ago by the Chinese. The basic principle is quite simple, a heavy object is lifted and dropped repeatedly, breaking up the rock. You then remove the pulverized rock through the use of a 'bailer' and repeat the process. Though the technology has improved greatly over the years, the basic concept remains the same. The heavy object in our case is a 2300 lb drill stem with an 8" bit. It is lifted up several feet by a cable on a large winch powered by a gas engine. It drops, and then lifts up again and again, hitting the ground approximately 52 times a minutes, each time advancing the drill stem. Every thirty minutes or so the bailer is used to remove the cuttings The Bucyrus Erie 22W is capable of drilling depths up to 1200 feet. Unlike rotary rigs that circulate bentonite mixed with water through the hole in order to lift the cuttings, the cable tool drills a dry hole until water is reached. Although the cable tool rig is slower than a rotary rig, the huge advantage that the cable tool has is that when a vein of water is reached it is clearly evident as the well hole begins to fill with water. Often, rotary rigs, because they drill so quickly and are already filling the hole with bentonite/water mix, will drill right past the vein of water, adding unnecessary depth which equals cost. |
